FOR AUTUMN AND WINTER, wedding trends can alter – and with invitations, it’s no different. While in Spring and Summer, brighters colours – both for the weddings themselves and for stationery – are popular.
In Winter, trends can often reflect what’s going on outside. This can be seen through darker shades of colour, tones and design for the season. Invitations can often offer a taster for the theme of a wedding, and come in many forms.
Stationery as a whole – including the order of service, menus from the reception – can all be kept as a momento to the occasion, and you want them to be perfect.
Because of the time of year, couples can opt for quirky invitations – including splashes of Autumn browns and yellows – or the more traditional whites, blues, and silvers of Winter.
Becoming increasingly popular are invitations incorporating a picture of the couple, and often you can negotiate this picture into your deal with your wedding photographer.
There are a variety of different ways of presenting your invites, and the company you choose to design them can help you with this.
Colours tend to become more reserved as we move into the cooler months, but there’s no reason why you can’t add a splash of colour to make you stand out.
It’s important to remember that it’s your wedding, and it’s unique to you. Adding flowers, or fabrics are also a good way to show that your wedding is going to be something very special – and can make you stand out from traditional flat cards.
