By  |

Have you ever seen the episode of the Big Bang Theory where Amy tells Sheldon there is nothing he can buy her that will make her forgive him, and then she opens his box and finds a tiara inside, instantly jumping around the room like a little girl who just had all her dreams come true? This is accurate for many brides-to-be.

Here are a few things to watch out for when buying your bridal tiara:

How does it fit?

Will your tiara have you walking as though you are balancing books on your head? Or is it too tight and digging into your scalp? Whatever the design, try to mention to the seller if it is not comfortable to wear – they should be able to support you or help you find something that does suit. After all, you shouldn’t let something small like this irritate you on your big day!

What if it is irritating to wear?

Sometimes tiaras can irritate the skin. It could be for several reasons including allergy to gold or small parts catching. It may even be that there’s a droplet on the forehead and the feeling of something dangling may feel quite annoying after a short while. It is important to prioritise your needs above what looks best, after all, you will be expecting yourself to wear this piece of jewellery for the duration of your day. This isn’t to say a tiara may not work for you, droplets can be glued and ultimately there are thousands of unique designs to choose from to fit your needs.

Fake tiara’s online

This isn’t to say that all tiara’s sold online are fake, however, there are a lot of scammers out there ready to sell you an illusion that will very much disappoint! Always check reviews and order well in advance to try and avoid any disappointments on the day.

How and where will you be storing your tiara? Tiara’s are often fragile and expensive, therefore it is recommended to buy a box which can also keep it in position. Though some come with a box, not all do, so it’s important to keep this in mind.

How do you know which tiara design will suit you best?

Trick question… all of them of course, it’s a tiara! No matter which style you choose, a bit of sparkle is sure to have you gliding to your wedding like a princess.
