How Fake Is Too Fake?

Fakery is rampant in the beauty world, especially in modern society. We have fake hair, fake nails, fake tan, fake eye lashes and thanks to a few social media starlets, a massive trend in fake lips. I personally am all for a bit of fakery. If giving things a little oomph here and a bit of an extension there makes you feel a little more confident, then I say by all means go for it.

In my personal opinion, there is nothing wrong with correcting something that makes you feel insecure. You are beautiful the way you are, but if you feel strongly about something and it improves your attitude and quality of life then why not?

But how much fake is too fake? And where does it go from boosting your self-confidence to creating a perfect ideal for your wedding?

We see many brides worrying about their teeth, or their noses, or their weight in the run up to the big day, and we have to ask ourselves, “is it all worth it?”

How much fakery is too much fakery, especially on your wedding day?

Fake Tan – Most brides will opt for a natural and subtle glow for their big day, mostly due to the fact that the pale colour of the dress can leave some paler ladies looking washed out. When going for fake tan, pick a natural looking colour and don’t apply too mch. You want to look natural and beautiful, not orange.

Fake Nails – We will insist that you make sure your hands look their best, as they will be photographed and people will be looking at your ring. This depends on personal taste, If you prefer a natural and sublt manicure then go for that. If your style is more full length red, almond shaped acrylics, then that will work too. Just make sure they are neat and tidy and freshly polished.

Fake Hair – Hair pieces and extensions are a staple for so many women these days, not just brides. With clip-in, weave in and bonded extensions all available, there is something out there to suit every taste and budget. Just make sure that the colour you choose matches your natural hair colour and that they look natural. Also ensure that your extensions aren’t too heavy for your hair, as they will cause damage such as bald patches and split ends.

Fake Eyelashes – Keep these nice and natural. Leave the fuller false eye lashes for nights out and use fluttery eyelashes to enhance what you already have. You want to be a doe eyed and beautiful bride.

Fake Lips – Thanks to instagram and Kylie Jenner, lips are everywhere. There are ways to achieve a fuller pout without having a procedure but ask yourself it you really need to. You’re beautiful just the way you are and you don’t need to change your face for your wedding day. If it’s something you’ve been insecure about for a long time then consider it, it’s your choice. But do it for yourself and to make YOU more happy, but not just for the sake of your wedding photos.
